I will be posting to this blog twice a week, typically on Tuesday and Friday. My Tuesday blog will be about my experience/bloopers anything to share about my radio broadcasting shift on Monday.

My Friday post will be about upcoming events and local talent or new music I hear that I think is worthy of a post on here!

I am a double major at a communication school. I am in Radio Broadcasting and Journalism! I have a pretty hectic life!

Not much to share as far as my shift on Monday..It was one of those days that nothing seemed to go right! Especially after spending 2 hours at our school blood drive to find out I can't donate due to low iron levels.

After that I went directly to the station to work on my newscast as my shift time was approaching! I had a new format to try out! To my surprise, I liked it more than the old format! By the end of the shift, I was beginning to lose my voice, not from talking..It's just one of those mysteries! It was not my best shift on the air, but I'm a work in progress. Aren't we all??

MANIC Monday

Just so everyone knows, I'll be updating this blog twice a week. On Tuesday or Wednesday's I'll be talking about my experience on the radio. The Second blog post for the week will be on Friday's typically which I will let you all know what's going on for the weekend, and promoting some local talent!

Monday's I have my radio broadcasting shift at the school I go to! Let's just say Monday was definitely a MANIC one for sure! We had a blood drive at the University I attend. I have never given blood before and was extremely nervous to do so! They can't even get blood out of me when I have to go to the doctors. I wasn't allowed to give because my iron was way to low. I was disappointed because I wanted to save some lives and conquer one of my fears. It will have to wait for the next blood drive.

Directly after, I go to the station to work on my news cast prior to my shift. We began using a new format so I was even more nervous than usual. To my surprise, I liked the new format even better!
I am so lucky to go to a school that has a local radio station because I am one of those people who ONLY learns by doing it!  The shift started off well, I feel that I even connected with the listeners a little more than normal. By the end of my shift, I was tripping over my words during the newscast, and actually had to clear my throat because I was losing my voice! It wasn't the best shift I have had. One the bright side, I'm a student learning and I am confident that when I graduate I will be a proficient broadcaster or journalist!
